ERP Business Analyst and Web Coordinator needed at Carteret Community College in Morehead City:  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. Associates degree in a related field can be substituted if the incumbent has minimum of three years’ experience in web applications and an ERP system in an educational environment, preferably a community college.  Experience with ERP system, preferably in an educational environment; Ability to query SQL and Unidata Server database; Good knowledge of a structured database query language. Experience with IIS and Apache web servers; Exceptional oral and written communication skills; Experience with a content management web environment; Basic Adobe Photoshop skills; Must be independent, organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize workload.   Preferred: Development/design/support with the Ellucian Colleague ERP platform; Experience with a Unix (Solaris) operating environment; Experience with Microsoft SQL Server; Familiarity with and proficiency in HTML, ASP, .NET, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, XML and other web technologies and standards; Experience with reporting and report writing, experience with Entrinsik Informer is a plus; Experience with programming, web development and markup/scripting languages (C#, Visual Basic, Colleague Envision, Microsoft Visual Studio, HTML, CSS, XML, and XSL); Experience with SharePoint and mobile software development (iOS or Android).  Permanent full-time position; salary negotiable depending on experience.  Deadline for applying is September 13, 2013.    RESUMES ARE NOT ACCEPTED IN LIEU OF APPLICATION.

                                                                    
 
 
ERP Business Analyst and Web Coordinator
 
Statement of Primary Purpose
The ERP Business Analyst/Web Coordinator is primarily responsible for understanding and integrating Web and IT systems with business processes. The ERP Business Analyst/Web Coordinator will ensure that the business receives the maximum benefit from the systems. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator and understand the interdependencies that various IT systems rely upon from a business and technical standpoint and have user-focused technical support skills with concentrations in web, application, and database administration.
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Understand, support, and contribute to technology and business in a higher education environment.
  • Manage the Web content management system.
  • Coordinate College’s Web presence. General application design, and repair for web applications.
  • Guide and assist users with Ellucian Colleague ERP applications and web service applications such as SharePoint Services, R25.
  • Provide end user training with peripheral applications.
  • Assist users with data extraction and design of reports utilizing query language and Entrinsik Informer.
  • Demonstrate database design and support skills, and the ability to investigate Unidata or SQL issues.
  • Have proficiency in MySQL, Unidata, and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new applications.
  • Ensure applications are in line with business requirements and maximize application benefit.
  • Serve as a backup to the System Administrator for the ERP system.
  • Assist with updates and patches. Assist with test and coordinating business user testing.
  • Design, program, and implement online databases as required.
  • Maintain security access forms.
  • Collaborate on IT projects, missions and goals.

Physical Demands
 
Position may include, but is not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines

Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, unusual environmental conditions, etc.)
 
Work is carried out in a standard heated and air conditioned area located in the Smith building.  There may be frequent interruptions both from students and employees.   Some after-hours and weekend work is required.
