Custodial Manager needed at Carteret Community College   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent or two years of college preferred.  At least 5 years (60 months) of full-time experience in supervision, preferably in a custodial environment. Knowledge of current multiple types of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. Ability to schedule, train and teach custodial personnel.  Above average communication and computer skills. Custodial Manager
Statement of Primary Purpose
Responsible for and supervises all aspects of the custodians and their functions. Performs and ensures a clean and healthy environment for students, faculty and staff.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all college property including ceilings, floors, walls and/or mirrors, furniture, and bathrooms.
  • Self-starter and ability to work closely and motivate others.
  • Facilitate and attend monthly departmental meetings.
  • Ensure completion of work orders and preventative maintenance
  • Responsible for periodic reports, inspections, inventory, and time sheets.
  • Inventory, delivers, and ordering of supplies
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; ensures continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Coordinates and participates in moving furniture, college event set-ups, take-downs and cleanup
  • Participates in emergency weather planning, preparation and clean up.
Minimum Qualifications

Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, reach, bend over, grasp, clutch, carry and climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  Abilities required by this job include close, distant, peripheral vision and the use of arms, legs and digit dexterity. 
Licensing Valid NC driver’s license
Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, unusual environmental conditions, etc.)
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The work environment can be noisy, dusty and repetitive. Personal protective equipment is required at times. Some after-hours work may be required.
